About MERGE FUTURE
Why Calicut
For centuries this coast has been where the world came to trade. MERGE FUTURE puts that old habit to work for the city's tech community.
About the event
The future is our shared destination.
But having the updates and the tools is only half the battle. To create a future that works for everyone, we need a unified front.
The Calicut Forum for IT (CAFIT) is proud to take this first step. We are coming together to adapt, to exchange insights and to grow as one ecosystem.
MERGE FUTURE bridges the gap between individual innovation and collective progress: two days, three verticals and two stages, with masterclasses, workshops and an expo where every conversation comes together.
Let's MERGE FUTURE.
A city built on exchange
Spice came in. Ideas went out.
Calicut has always been a meeting point. Here is how it got here.
- Centuries ago
The busiest port on the Malabar Coast
Pepper, cardamom and ginger left Calicut for Arabia, China and beyond. Merchants from across the seas met here, traded and left changed.
- 1498
A new sea route lands at Kappad
Vasco da Gama reached Kappad beach, just north of Calicut, opening the sea route between Europe and India.
- 2023
India's first UNESCO City of Literature
Kozhikode joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, recognised for its libraries, publishers and reading culture.
- Today
A tech city in the making
UL CyberPark, Government CyberPark and a fast-growing startup community make Calicut one of Kerala's most promising technology hubs.
- 9–10 Jan 2027
MERGE FUTURE
The city's builders, founders, enterprises, government and students meet under one roof.
What we stand for
Adapt. Exchange. Grow.
Adapt
Technology moves fast. We bring the people who are already adapting into the same room as the people who need to.
Exchange
Insight is worth more when it is shared. Founders, CIOs, investors and officials trade what they know, openly.
Grow as one
One ecosystem, not a hundred islands. The aim is a Calicut that grows together, from the student to the enterprise.
Organised by
Calicut Forum for IT
CAFIT brings together the technology companies of Calicut to grow the city's IT ecosystem: its talent, its companies and its place on the map.
MERGE FUTURE is CAFIT's flagship event, built with partners from industry, government and academia.
